This workshop will offer special attention to the "use of self" in a conflict. The goal is to increase your awareness of what is happening to you in a conflict, help you to identify your blindspots, and to increase the range of options you have for effective behavior. We will begin with a couple of days of T-group work. There will also be opportunities for self assessment and feedback from other participants and trainers. In addition to the emphases on the "use of self" you will learn conflict management skills, methods and theory for use in groups and organizations. This event meets the perquisite requirement for more advanced workshops.
Before you register for the workshop please review these documents: 1) Learning Agreement, 2) About T-Groups, and 3) Lab Education Norms
Complete on-line (Before December 20, 2011; log on information has been sent)
MBTI and the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument
You will receive information on how to log on to the system
Once completed you'll receive your results as part of a brief report
Read in advance - It would be helpful if participants read these documents before we begin. They are offered as background readings. You don't have to bring copies with you.
The Process of Change - Sometimes we end up in conflict because we are clumsy in our change efforts.
The Relationship Cycle in Organizations - When we don't provide ways to engage new hopes and problems we may force the parish system into a high level conflict.
Change Formula - Same issue about being clumsy in our change efforts.
Trust Development - We might avoid conflict be paying more attention to trust development.
All registered participants are to bring to the workshop
